Sebastian Named One of the World’s 25 Most Adventurous Men

April 29, 2017 4:47am

MEN’S JOURNAL’S WORLD’S MOST ADVENTUROUS MEN LIST!

In its April 2017 issue, Men’s Journal named Sebastian one of the World’s 25 Most Adventurous Men of the last 25 years. It is an incredible honor considering some of the other names on that list. On a personal note, however, Sebastian says: “I am humbled by this inclusion. I feels strongly that there are names whose omission is notable, and should have been included even ahead of my own. In Polar exploration, for instance, it is hard to think of someone more deserving than Børge Ousland, one of my personal heroes. Still, it is nice to be included and always appreciated when the trips, successful or not, get the nod. So thanks a bunch, Men’s Journal, this pushes me to do better!”

Sebastian named one of the world’s 50 Most Adventurous Men

April 22, 2015 10:44pm

Men's Journal's 50 Most Adventurous Men

Men’s Journal released its list of the 50 Most Adventurous Men. Sebastian was humbled and honored to be listed among many of his heroes. It is hard to compile such a list when so many others feel like they are missing.

Still, this reinforces his conviction that adventure and awareness work hand in a hand in the current climate crisis. As Sebastian has said: “we face an ‘all hands on deck’ moment if we are to reclaim our history and rewrite a happy ending for our children’s generation”.

It is also great encouragement for Sebastian’s THE LAST GREAT MARCH–NORTH POLE 2016 mission–unsupported, unassisted walk from land to the geographic North Pole with partner Mark George. Stay tuned for more on that!

You can find the list here.

Sebastian’s Men’s Journal article on the Antarctica crossing

April 9, 2013 5:18pm

Here is a free link to the Men’s Journal article of the Antarctica Legacy Crossing which was published last October 2012. It’s a riveting condensed account of the blog (which you can read here http://sebastiancopelandadventures.com/antarcticaexpedition). The article “81 Days on the Ice” retraces the first East/West transcontinental crossing of Antarctica from coast to coast that Sebastian led from November 2011 to February 2012 with partner Eric McNair Landry on the 100 year anniversary of the South Pole.
